How to Break Down a Lost Mary BM6000 Reusable Electronic Vape or Cigarette Into Components

Firstly, safety – The batteries can still carry an electrical charge and can be dangerous still so if you are not confident then I would recommend you put the whole thing into battery recycling rather than try to break it down yourself first. There is also a lot of e-liquid inside these vapes that can get all over your hands so make sure you wash your hands thoroughly after touching these. For those who wish to contine I have put a guide below on how I disassemble and recycle the Lost Mary BM6000 reusable electronic vapes or Cigarettes I find.

First of all, get your tools ready, I use a couple of pairs of different sized Pliers, some snippers and a screwdriver.

The first thing to do is to pull out the e-liquid cartridge, normally you can pull these out with your hand but if not lever it out carefully with a screwdriver or similar.

Now we are going to focus on separating the parts in the e-liquid cartridge and get that out of the way. Lever off the top of the cartridge with some pliers.

You may find some liquid left in there, if so you can give it a rinse uner the tap to clean things up a bit and stop it spilling out. Pull the rubber part off.

This is probably the most annoying part of the whole job, you need to make three snips on the three plastic supports around the spring to release the spring part.

Then pull the middle spring part out.

Then you can snip the middle plastic rod to get the spring out and separate the other parts. Be careful with this bit as the spring can ping out at you!

You can see already the liquid has splatted over the workbench a bit, as I said above you can give it a rinse under the tap to clean it up a bit and dab the workbench and parts with a tissue as you go.

Ok, now we can turn our attention back to the main part of the vape. I find it best to grab the main case with some pilers and hit the mouthpiece on something to knock the whole inside section out.

Once it is loose you should be able to pull the two pieces apart.

Dispose of the case in the plastic recycling and lets then focus on separating the inside section. You can lightly pull or lever the plastic battery compartment off.

That plastic bit should then slide off the battery.

You can then take the rubber and fabric pieces out which will free up the plastic for recycling.

Then you can snip the positive red wire to disconnect the battery. You can see in the picture below the lights are on the display so this battery still had charge

Then snip the negative wire which should disconnect the battery completely.

Now we can remove the small circuit board, the circuit board is held on by two tiny screws.

Unscrew both of those screws.

Well done for getting this far! We are onto the final piece of the puzzle, the mouthpiece.

The bigger bit can go straight in the plastic recycling, the other mouthpiece part we need to take apart further. Put a screwdriver in the small holes on the side to take the bottom off.

There are two metal contacts in the lid that need to be removed, these can be a bit of a pain to get out but I have a good technique using two pairs of pliers. I use one underneith to create a gap to push the metal contacts into and the other to do the pushing from the top.

Lost Mary BM6000 Disposable Vape - Pushing on the metal contacts to dislodge them

That should push them out enough for you to grab the other side and pull them free from the plastic.

There are a few other bits to pick out following that.

Then separate all of the picked out parts.

Now the last little bit is the filament in the little metal tube. You need to remove the small plastic ring inside.

Then can push the filament out of the metal tube.

Once you have done that everything should be nicely separated. Recycle the plastic and metal bits in your normal plastic and metal recycling. The battery can be taken to battery recycling, they have these in lots of the big shops and your council should have various facilities. The electronic part and wires can be put in the waste electrical equipment recycling (all councils have these facilities). The rubber is sometimes recycled but sometimes not. If not you can bin it with the fabric pieces.
